FDI Services has signed a multi-year asset maintenance contract with The Miami-Dade Expressway Authority, MDX, to maintain five urban, limited-accesses toll roads and other facilities within the county. The request for proposals was released by the agency on August 20, 2014. Once submittals were evaluated in October 2014, FDI Services was declared the winning qualified firm with the necessary expertise and resources to provide asset maintenance services for MDX assets.
The contract comprises routine and enhanced maintenance activities with a focus on local business development. MDX’s five roadways cover more than 33 center-lane miles, 280 lane miles and over 100,000 sq ft of facilities. MDX roads are amongst the most critical east-west roadways in the county. On this Project, FDI will employee over 25 residents of Miami Dade, and will work with local and disadvantaged contractors. FDI has acquired a 82-ft mobile barrier for this job.
